The Chronicles - January 2026

Celebrating Excellence, Creating Impact

Hello and welcome to this edition of The De’stadia Chronicles.

It has been a minute, but I am glad to connect with you once again. Together, we continue to unite our efforts to do more good in our communities.

January is Vocational Service Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the worthiness of all professions and encouraging us to use our skills and expertise to serve society.

In true De’stadia fashion, we are commemorating this month with two key activities.

First, we shall be presenting a Vocational Service Award to Rtn. (MD) Charles Kabanda. MD Kabanda has been instrumental in supporting Rotary and Rotaract Clubs, including our own, to build strategic partnerships with Centenary Bank. Through this collaboration, we have been able to extend our reach and implement impactful community service projects whose impact continues to be felt within our communities.

Secondly, we shall be hosting a vocational tour to Harris International, one of our valued partners. This visit aims to expose our members to the inner workings of a major fast-moving brand and offer practical insights into vocational excellence.

In this edition, you will also find highlights from the first half of the Rotary year. Thanks to our collective efforts and your support, the club was recently recognised as an Outstanding Club in the second quarter..

Thank you for being part of this journey. With you alongside us, we are confident that we will continue to create even greater impact.

We have many exciting activities lined up and would love for you to be part of them. Read on to stay updated and not miss out.

Warm regards,

Maureen Nabweteme
President, Rotaract Club of Bweyogerere Namboole

Recognising Excellence

Earlier this month, De’stadia received special recognition after emerging 1st place as the Outstanding Club in the Tier 2 category. This achievement is a true testament to our collective efforts, dedication, and commitment to service.

We appreciate Rotary District 9213 for this recognition and thank every member and partner whose hard work continues to push us to do even more for our communities.

Take a look at our report snapshot of the club’s performance in the first half of the Rotary Year.

Upcoming Events

This Friday, 30th June, we shall be honouring Rtn. (MD) Charles Kabanda with the Vocational Service Award in recognition of his selfless service and dedication to community impact.

Through his profession, MD Kabanda has championed support for Rotary and Rotaract projects in partnership with Centenary Bank, greatly expanding the reach and impact of service initiatives within our club and many others. This collaboration has enabled us to extend humanitarian service to even more communities.

We hope this recognition will inspire a continued spirit of Service Above Self.

Join us as club members visit Harris International, a leading Fast Moving Consumer Goods company behind brands such as Riham and Oner.

This vocational tour will offer a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into bringing the beloved consumer brands to life — from production processes to the operational excellence that drives top-performing companies. Members will also have the opportunity to engage with the minds behind these successful products and gain valuable industry insights.

It is not too late for you to sign up. Contact the number on the flyer to save your spot today.

The De’stadia Annual Interact Symposium is back — bigger and better! This symposium brings together young people and Interactors for meaningful conversations, mentorship, and skill-building to prepare them for both professional and personal growth.

This year’s theme is Mental Wellness: Managing Stress & Anxiety, and it will be held at St. Julian SS Gayaza.

We would love for you to join us and be part of this impactful experience.

Additionally, we are still on the look out for the event’s sponsors and this is an opportunity to for you to contribute to the mentorship of the next generation of change makers.

Join Us in Making a Difference!

At the Rotaract Club of Bweyogerere Namboole, we are committed to creating lasting change in our community. Every initiative we take is fueled by the generosity of people like you.

This month, we’re rallying support to continue building an A’level block at St. Herman’s SS Lwankoni—the only secondary school in the Lwankoni sub-county, Kyotera District. Each year, over 100 students risk dropping out after O’level because the nearest alternative schools are too far to reach.
