The Chronicles - January

Hello friend,
As the new year unfolds, I’m taking a moment to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together—and I just wanted to say thank you for being such an important part of this journey.
2024 was an unforgettable year. From welcoming over 20 new members to the De’stadia family to carrying out the monumental groundbreaking work in Lwankoni, to now being able to connect with so many of you through the De’stadia Chronicles, it’s been an honour to walk this journey with you.
2025 started with a bang with the unprecedented milestone of De’stadia being named top top-performing club in District 9213 for the second quarter in a row. This recognition validates what we do and re-energises us to keep doing more to serve our communities
Looking ahead, I’m excited to work with you to create even more impact in 2025. We’ll keep pushing boundaries and elevating together, just wait till you see what we have in store for you!
For now, I hope you take this season to rest, recharge, and celebrate your wins —you’ve earned it! Here’s to an abundant and fulfilling 2025 for us all.
With so much gratitude,
Joan Nambejja,
Magical President of the Rotaract Club of Bweyogerere Namboole
Highlights
1. Outstanding Club of the Quarter

Earlier this month we were privileged to be named top performing club of the quarter among tier 2 CBCs (community-based clubs with over 50 members). Most notable was the club’s top performance in service projects, Public image, and giving to the Rotary Foundation among other avenues of service.
Thank you for all your individual contributions that led us here…
2. The Deserving Hope Project

On December 6th to 8th, we carried out the fourth phase of the Deserving Hope Project in Kyotera-Lwankoni, marked by the launch of the A’level block construction. Earlier this Rotary year, our club pledged to mobilize resources to help build this block, ensuring students in the village have a path to higher education. With your support, we’ve laid the foundation—an important milestone that fuels our commitment to seeing this project through.
Together, we can make this vision a reality.
Key project activities included:
Launching the construction of the A’level block at St. Herman’s SS Lwankoni
Provision of mosquito nets and mama kits to pregnant mothers
Planting a 200-fruit orchard at St. James Primary School
Blood donation at Lwankoni Health Center III
We extend our gratitude to Centenary Bank and Rotary Club of Bweyogerere Namboole for being the key sponsors of the project for walking this journey with us.

3. Vocational Tour at Sumz

On January 25th, we had a vocational tour to Psalms Food Industries, a company that has grown from humble beginnings to an award-winning brand with 20+ SUMZ products sold in 10+ countries.
Vocational tours align with Rotaract’s mission to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all occupations. They offer hands-on learning about different industries, career paths, and the skills needed for success.

Join Us in Making a Difference!
At the Rotaract Club of Bweyogerere Namboole, we are committed to creating lasting change in our community. From empowering young leaders to driving environmental conservation efforts, every initiative we take is fueled by the generosity of people like you.
This month, we’re rallying support to continue building an A’level block at St. Herman’s SS Lwankoni—the only secondary school in the Lwankoni sub-county, Kyotera District. Each year, over 100 students risk dropping out after O’level because the nearest alternative schools are too far to reach.
Your contribution—no matter the amount—can help us reach more people and make a greater impact.
